Gilson has been around for 75 years and counting, and sustainability is in our genes. Our involvement in protecting the environment extends to our financial resources, operations, employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities we live and work in daily. Here’s a summary of our CSR program and the framework we use at Gilson.
We’re Committed to Sustainability
Here at Gilson, we strive to be a sustainable company. We recognize the need to give back to our local communities and to protect the environment. That's why we have created a plan to grow our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program across the Gilson group. CSR is the continuing commitment by a business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life for their workforce, families, local communities, and society at large.
The EcoVadis Program
Gilson Plastics (G-Plastics), in Moirans-en-Montagne, France, has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver medal, and our manual liquid handling device manufacturing plant, Gilson MLH (G-MLH), in Villiers-le-bel, France, has received the bronze medal. To standardize a CSR program for the company, we’ve decided to expand the EcoVadis framework used at G-Plastics and G-MLH across our other entities. EcoVadis is an internationally recognized sustainability assessment service. Their framework assesses Gilson in the following areas and ranks us based on our compliance in the following areas:

Next Steps to Extend EcoVadis to All Of Our Locations
A core team of different departments in the company will lead a project to expand the program to other Gilson entities. The European offices will follow later in 2023, and our production site in Middleton, Wisconsin, US, aims for 2024.
Sustainability & Giving Back
We recognize the significance of our role in our local communities and our responsibility to protect our environment. So, while others are offshoring, we keep our manufacturing and logistics close to our local sites and our customers, creating jobs at home and reducing our carbon footprint by shortening our supply chain.
