Technical Notes
In this technical note, the use of a PIPETMAX® automated liquid handling system is described for the pipetting of the plasma from the whole blood sample. PIPETMAX can be used to aspirate a precise volume of the plasma and transfer this to a suitable analysis or storage tube. If the specific laboratory workflow will benefit from it, then diluent can also be added to the analysis tubes, and the plasma can be mixed into the diluent as part of the same method.
The manual cyclization step in a peptide purification workflow is time-consuming and can easily become the rate-limiting step of the whole workflow, leading to delays in peptide production. Automating a drop-wise cyclization process using a liquid handler with a large rack capacity and incorporating automatic orbital shaking is an ideal solution to this workflow bottleneck.
